Registered Nurse – Chemotherapy Infusion

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Chemotherapy Infusion team at UHealth SoLé Mia. This position provides direct patient care for individuals receiving chemotherapy, ensuring safe administration of treatments and compassionate support throughout the infusion process.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs and symptoms.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and clinical conditions.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient status.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to facilitate patient transitions.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, supporting their integration into the clinical setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in oncology or infusion services.
• Demonstrated learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency with office and clinical software, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
