Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Outpatient Cardiology

About the role

The Outpatient Cardiology department at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide patient‑family centered care for cardiovascular patients. The RN will work in a culturally competent environment, applying evidence‑based standards to ensure safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results to guide patient care.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care using available resources.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
