Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Department is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality patient care in the UTower unit. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill cardiovascular patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results; consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age, culture, and individual needs.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Provide psychological support, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to adapt to changing demands, and commitment to compassionate care.
