Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care (Full-time)

About the role

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Department has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work in UTower. The Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who coordinates, evaluates and delivers patient care through collaborative efforts with the interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients and evaluate care plans, documenting nursing care.
• Report symptoms, changes in condition and vital signs to the care team.
• Modify patient treatment plans based on responses, conditions and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate and report diagnostic test results.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures and treatments, considering age and culture.
• Provide psychological support and patient education to patients and families.
• Safely administer medications and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families and team members while complying with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum two years of cardiovascular nursing experience.
