Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Department at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality care in the UTower unit. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiovascular patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and symptoms promptly.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and patient/family education.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates have 2 years to complete BSN).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
