Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular (Full-time)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse specialized in cardiovascular care to deliver patient‑family centered services in a culturally competent environment. The RN will work on‑call, overseeing daily practice of nurses and allied health staff while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and clinical guidelines.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results to guide patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in cardiovascular settings.
