Registered Nurse - Ambulatory

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Ambulatory provides comprehensive, patient‑centered care to individuals receiving outpatient services. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care while collaborating closely with physicians and the health‑care team.

Key responsibilities

• Interview patients, explain policies, and review charts to answer questions courteously.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, mobility, sensory, prosthetic, and skin status, adjusting the plan of care as needed.
• Evaluate pain levels and manage pain interventions.
• Assess psychosocial health, cultural needs, coping mechanisms, and knowledge to tailor support and counseling.
• Develop outcome statements, set individualized goals, and prioritize care activities.
• Coordinate cost‑effective use of supplies, equipment, and medication.
• Implement the care plan, administer prescribed treatments, operate necessary medical equipment, and document all actions accurately.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families, and respond rapidly to emergencies.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure and experience in ambulatory/outpatient settings.
• Strong clinical judgment and leadership abilities to coordinate care and delegate tasks.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to assess both physical and psychosocial health status and develop comprehensive care plans.
