Registered Nurse – Adult Orthopedic Stepdown (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty provides patient‑family centered care in the adult joint and reconstruction orthopedic stepdown unit of the University of Miami Health System. The RN oversees nurses and allied health staff while delivering direct clinical care, ensuring quality, safety and culturally competent service.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care and report changes in condition.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review diagnostic tests and communicate results.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures and treatments.
• Provide psychological support and culturally competent care.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate medication records.
• Serve as preceptor for new staff and oversee daily practice of nurses and allied health staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
