Registered Nurse 2 – Triage (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Neurology department seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to provide patient‑family centered care on the UHealth Medical Campus. The RN will triage and prioritize patient appointments and messages, ensuring culturally competent, evidence‑based care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests; consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members in compliance with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and use best practices for patient care transitions.
• Serve as a preceptor, providing feedback and support to new staff.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in triage, prioritization, and supervising allied health staff.
• Ability to provide compassionate psychological support to patients and families.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and university/unit policies.
