Registered Nurse 2 – Surgical Oncology (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Residency Registered Nurse 2 – Surgical Oncology Specialty provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment. This full‑time position supports the UHealth Tower team in delivering high‑quality oncology nursing services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans according to physician orders and patient responses.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic test results, communicating findings to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while offering culturally sensitive support.
• Safely administer medications and maintain accurate medication records in compliance with regulations.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates have 2 years to complete BSN).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license, ACLS and BLS certification.
• No prior experience required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing care methods.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines (sanitation, decontamination, etc.).
• Strong patient communication and interpersonal abilities.
