About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to provide specialty care in the Stem Cell Transplant and Intensive Care Unit. The role focuses on delivering patient‑family centered, culturally competent care while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and clinical judgment.
• Review and interpret diagnostic test results to guide patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring cultural and age‑appropriate communication.
• Provide psychological support and foster a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate medication and treatment records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to ensure smooth transitions.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, guiding them in clinical practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Applicable specialty certifications as required by the department.
