Registered Nurse 2 – Stem Cell Transplant (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to join the Stem Cell Transplant team at the Sylvester Cancer Center. This full‑time position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment, supporting complex transplant procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and clinical assessments.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic tests to determine patient status.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and nurture a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records per regulatory standards.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to facilitate patient transition.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, guiding them in clinical practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• OCN or BMTCN certification preferred; BMTCN to be obtained within two years of hire.

Required skills
