About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to deliver patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment. The role focuses on specialty care, ensuring safety, quality, and personalized treatment for diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care using best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Institute.
