About the role

The Radiation Oncology Department at UHealth seeks a Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty to deliver patient‑family centered care in the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership, overseeing nursing and allied health staff while ensuring high‑quality, culturally competent care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and clinical assessments.
• Review diagnostic tests, consult with physicians and other professionals, and develop comprehensive care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team while complying with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Assist with discharge planning and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Active Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Demonstrated ability to assess patients, modify care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) proficiency.
• RN licensure in Florida.
