Registered Nurse 2 – Retina Clinic (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to join its Retina Clinic in Palm Beach Gardens. The RN will provide patient‑family centered care, supervise allied health staff, and ensure high‑quality, culturally competent services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Report symptoms, vital sign changes, and diagnostic test results to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning, transition of care, and use of available resources.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Current RN license in Florida.
• Experience delivering patient‑centered care in a clinical setting.
• Ability to supervise nurses and allied health staff.
• Strong communication skills and adherence to university policies.
