About the role
The University of Miami seeks a Part‑Time Registered Nurse 2 to join its Radiology department. You will provide direct patient care, support diagnostic procedures, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high‑quality radiology services.
Key responsibilities
- Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
- Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while respecting age and cultural considerations.
- Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
- Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with discharge planning, transition of care, and serve as a preceptor for new staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Active Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in radiology or imaging.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, nursing procedures, and health‑safety guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide compassionate psychological support.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Proficiency in operating radiology‑related medical equipment.
