Registered Nurse 2 – Pre/Post Care (Doral)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Registered Nurse 2 to provide pre‑ and post‑procedure patient care in its Doral facility. This full‑time, onsite position focuses on delivering culturally competent, patient‑family centered care while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and clinical guidelines.
• Review and interpret diagnostic tests, and communicate findings to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within RN scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Provide psychological support and consider age and cultural factors in patient education.
• Assist with discharge planning and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
