Registered Nurse 2 – Pre-PACU (Full-time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System at Doral is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to work in the Pre‑PACU area. This position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment, supporting a wide range of specialty services within a state‑of‑the‑art facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify patient treatment plans based on responses, conditions, and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and nurture a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Experience delivering specialty nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Ability to oversee nurses and allied health staff in daily practice.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
