Registered Nurse 2 – Patient Care Specialist

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to provide patient‑family centered care at UHealth SoLé Mia. The role focuses on delivering culturally competent, evidence‑based nursing services while supervising allied health staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient responses and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results to monitor patient conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and use resources to support patient transitions.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing guidance and feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
