Registered Nurse 2 – PACU – Per Diem

About the role

The Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty – Per Diem provides patient‑family centered care in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at UHealth SoLé Mia. This position focuses on delivering culturally competent, evidence‑based nursing services on a flexible, per‑diem schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and symptoms.
• Modify care plans based on patient responses and physician orders.
• Review diagnostic test results and communicate findings.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transitions.
• Operate medical equipment and adhere to university and unit policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• No prior experience required; ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Proficiency in using standard office software and technology relevant to nursing documentation.
