Registered Nurse 2 – Oncology Specialty (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Residency Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty (U) delivers patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent manner, using evidence‑based standards of quality, safety, and service. The incumbent oversees nurses and allied health staff in daily practice within the UHealth Tower oncology unit.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient responses and physician orders.
• Review diagnostic tests, consult with physicians and other professionals, and develop patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, providing culturally appropriate information and psychological support.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests while maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, and assist with discharge planning.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred (ASN graduates have 2 years to obtain BSN).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license, ACLS and BLS certification.
• No prior experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and health‑safety guidelines.
