About the role

The Residency Registered Nurse 2 – Oncology Specialty provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment at UHealth Tower. This full‑time position oversees nurses and allied health staff while delivering high‑quality oncology nursing services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results to determine patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory standards.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor, providing guidance and feedback to new staff.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred (ASN holders have 2 years to complete BSN).
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• Experience in oncology or acute care nursing preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent, patient‑family centered care.
