About the role
The Registered Nurse 2 provides patient‑family centered care in oncology and multispecialty clinics, delivering culturally competent, evidence‑based services while supervising nursing and allied health staff.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patients, document nursing care, report symptoms, and modify treatment plans per physician orders.
- Review diagnostic tests, consult with physicians and healthcare professionals, and develop care plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
- Administer medications and perform patient tests, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulations.
- Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with discharge planning and coordinate transitions of care.
- Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
- Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.
- Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Valid State of Florida RN license.
