Registered Nurse 2 – Oncology Clinic

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth at SoLé Mia is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to join its Oncology Clinic. This position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment, supporting the delivery of high‑quality academic medicine to North Miami and surrounding communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient responses and physician orders.
• Report symptoms, vital sign changes, and diagnostic test results to the healthcare team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, and assist with discharge planning.

Required profile

• Current or former staff, faculty, or temporary employee of the University of Miami (internal applicants use Workday).
• Registered Nurse licensure with experience in oncology or related clinical settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency in patient assessment and documentation.
• Knowledge of medication administration standards and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
