Registered Nurse 2 – Multispecialty (UMMG)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Registered Nurse 2 to join its Multispecialty UMMG unit within UHealth. This full‑time position provides direct patient care, collaborates with physicians, and supports a compassionate healing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient condition.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while respecting age and cultural considerations.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and perform required patient tests.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and health‑safety guidelines.
