Registered Nurse 2 – Multi‑Specialty (Sylvester)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to provide multi‑specialty patient care in the Sylvester unit. The role involves assessing patients, documenting nursing care, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, and support transition and discharge planning.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance in direct patient care.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
