About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Urology Department seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to provide patient‑family centered, culturally competent care in the outpatient urology clinic. The RN will lead the clinic team, perform specialized procedures, and ensure high‑quality care for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and develop care plans.
• Serve as lead nurse for the urology outpatient clinic and oversee nurses and allied health staff.
• Perform and train others on procedures such as urodynamics, PTNS, and bladder instillations.
• Create assignments for medical assistants and monitor patient schedules to optimize flow.
• Report symptoms, vital signs, and changes in condition; modify treatment plans per physician orders.
• Review diagnostic tests and communicate results to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural needs.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in discharge planning and transition of care.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.
• Safely operate medical equipment and adapt to changing work demands.

Required profile

• Ability to deliver patient‑family centered, culturally competent care.
• Experience supervising or overseeing nurses and allied health staff.
• Full‑time availability to work onsite in the clinic.
