Registered Nurse 2 – Imaging Specialty (On Call, Full Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 specialized in imaging to provide patient‑centered, culturally competent care on an on‑call, full‑time basis. The role involves direct patient interaction, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and supervision of nursing and allied health staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results to determine patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Perform patient tests and safely administer medications, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Associate degree RN must complete BSN within two years of hire.
