About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 1 to provide patient‑family centered care in a multispecialty setting on‑site in Aventura. The role emphasizes culturally competent, evidence‑based practice and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient condition.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Perform patient tests, safely administer medications, and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members in compliance with HIPAA and best‑practice transition protocols.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Applicable departmental certifications as required.
• Learning agility to adopt new procedures and technologies.
• Strong teamwork orientation.
• Technical proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
