Regional Threats Modeling and Simulations Engineer (Senior-Level)

About the role

Amentum's intelligence support program informs decision-makers, from ground force commanders to international partners and national security policymakers. This senior-level position designs, develops and runs simulations against hard targets, missiles and other intelligence gaps, and supports wargaming exercises in a simulated environment. Work is flexible: 4-16 hours per week remotely, 40 hours per week on site (8 hours per day, 5 days per week) during defined project periods.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and run simulations against hard targets, missiles and other intelligence gaps, and support wargaming exercises in a simulated environment.
• Define, implement, validate and test modeling and simulation architectures.
• Work with users to define and optimize application functionality, develop and visualize operational concepts, and analyze modeling and simulation data to refine, demonstrate and assess them.
• Develop wargames and force-on-force scenarios for threat nation invasions, including battle-type factors, force ratios, doctrines, equipment and morale.
• Conduct or teach doctrinal military wargaming during planning of Large-Scale Combat Operations.
• Produce analysis on terrain mapping, route planning and maritime geospatial activity, and interpret visible, infrared and radar imagery and full-motion video to identify military facilities, systems and activities.

Required profile

• Comprehensive mission knowledge and wargaming, modeling and simulation skills.
• Ability to lead teams in researching complex problems and to guide selection and use of analytic methodologies.
• Ability to communicate understanding from incomplete, indirect, complex or technically advanced information.
• Clearance: TS/SCI.
• Education: high school level; 12 years of relevant experience, or 8 years with a bachelor's degree.
