Regional Medical Scientific Director – Rheumatology/Dermatology

About the role

The Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) leads scientific exchange for MSD's Rheumatology and Dermatology Immunology programs across the Upper Midwest. The role serves as a bridge between external scientific leaders and the company, providing balanced, factual information on both product and non‑product areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with national and regional Scientific Leaders, delivering peer‑to‑peer scientific discussions and responding to inquiries.
• Support research initiatives by identifying potential investigators, conducting site initiation visits, and addressing barriers to patient enrollment for phase II‑IV trials.
• Represent MSD at scientific congresses and medical meetings, facilitating exchange of company and competitor data.
• Collect and relay scientific insights from routine interactions to inform internal priorities.

Required profile

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD with at least 3 years of therapeutic‑area experience beyond the terminal degree.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct doctoral‑level scientific discussions and strong stakeholder‑management skills.
• Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, GCP and other regulatory guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote).
• Experience using virtual meeting platforms for remote scientific exchange.

What we offer

• Base salary range $190,800 – $300,300 per year, plus annual bonus and long‑term incentives.
