Regional District Manager

About the role

The Regional District Manager will lead Matchaful’s nine NYC cafés, overseeing senior café leadership and driving overall performance. Reporting to the CEO/Director of Operations, this role combines a passion for matcha with strong retail growth focus, ensuring exceptional quality and customer satisfaction across all locations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all café operations including staffing, inventory, quality assurance, SOPs and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, cleanliness, health, safety and labor regulations, maintaining A‑grade restaurant scores.
• Monitor sales data, customer feedback and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead hiring, onboarding and team planning for current and upcoming store openings.
• Maintain and update retail, pastry and Grab‑&‑Go planograms across all cafés.
• Review timecards weekly and report observations to the Director of Retail Operations.
• Manage net sales forecasting, cost control, COGS reviews and financial targets.
• Drive labor efficiency through data‑informed scheduling and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Handle cash management and ensure accurate financial transactions.

Required profile

• Passion for matcha and a deep understanding of Japanese tea culture.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing multiple retail or café locations.
• Strong focus on retail growth, quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational data to drive performance.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to senior leadership.
