Recovery Assistant – Residential Addiction Support

About the role

The Divided Sky Foundation seeks a full‑time Recovery Assistant to support individuals in a 12‑Step residential addiction program in Ludlow, Vermont. You will act as a personal guide and liaison, ensuring daily routines run smoothly while providing a safe, empathetic environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee guests during housekeeping, meals, and daily activities, and conduct orientation on rules and programming within the first 48 hours.
• Facilitate recreation, fitness, and leisure activities both on‑site and off‑site, and transport guests to AA meetings and medical appointments.
• Assist guests in crisis situations, administer urine analyses, and maintain accurate records and shift reports.
• Supervise off‑property events, conduct room checks, and develop corrective action plans when needed.
• Welcome new guests, complete intake forms, and support discharge protocols, including gathering belongings and completing departure paperwork.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (advanced degree preferred); valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Lived experience with recovery or strong understanding of addiction, and ability to work compassionately in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.
• Certification such as Vermont Recovery Coach Certification (CRC) or CCAR RCA is a plus; current First Aid/CPR certification (provided if needed).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lb regularly.
