R&D Engineer – Chillers

About the role

Join LG Electronics' HVAC R&D Center in Alpharetta, GA as an R&D Engineer focusing on chiller technology. You will contribute to the development and improvement of HVAC products for the US market.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HVAC engineering insight and improvement solutions for new product development.
• Screen, analyze and support new HVAC product performance, offering recommendations for next steps.
• Statistically evaluate, interpret and support collected product data.
• Analyze field‑based testing data using statistical approaches.
• Review design shortcomings to pinpoint weaknesses and improvement points.
• Communicate with HVAC R&D and factory laboratories to deliver US‑usage based engineering statistics.
• Support acquisition hardware/software to create lab acquisition models.
• Assist in preparing service, installation and engineering manuals for US commercialization after launch.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Exposure to various manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability.
• Ability to multi‑task and operate independently.
• Experience with CSA, UL or DOE certification processes is a plus.
