Rail Superintendent – Heavy Civil Projects in Greater Boston

About the role

We are looking for a Rail Superintendent to lead field operations on large‑scale rail and transit infrastructure projects across Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts. The role will manage daily site activities, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and act as the primary link between the field crew and project management.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations on major rail, transit, bridge, highway and public infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, materials and logistics.
• Drive safety, quality, productivity and schedule performance on site.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, railroad representatives and field leadership to execute project plans.
• Manage look‑ahead schedules, manpower planning, track access, inspections and field reporting.
• Plan work around shutdown windows, restricted access periods and active rail operations.
• Support client, agency, railroad and stakeholder coordination throughout execution.

Required profile

• Proven Superintendent experience in rail, transit, heavy civil, bridge or transportation construction.
• Experience with MBTA, Amtrak, MassDOT, commuter or freight rail projects preferred.
• Strong field leadership, scheduling and subcontractor coordination abilities.
• Demonstrated safety management and quality control expertise.
• Ability to lead self‑perform crews and manage complex field operations.
