Radiology Technologist - Orthopedic Practice

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Radiology Technologist for the AHMG Rothman Orthopedic practice at Innovation Tower in Orlando, Florida. The position is scheduled Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm, and the technologist may float to other Rothman practices as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain infection control standards, using approved PPE and disinfectants, and keep the room stocked, organized and clean.
• Complete documentation for the radiologist, including answering phones, patient records, filing and scheduling.
• Perform direct patient care within the technologist's scope, monitoring condition and ensuring comfort, safety and privacy.
• Obtain and document patient history, explain procedures, identify patients correctly and screen for contrast allergies and childbearing age to minimize radiation exposure.
• Perform radiology duties in all departments, including the operating room and fluoroscopy.
• Position patients and equipment and select technical factors so images meet the radiologist's standards.
• Use established protocols and operate scanners, injectors, monitors and other equipment safely.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience.
• Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) license required.
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operation, including x-ray producing equipment where applicable.
• Able to use all radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
• Effective communication with patients, families, nurses and physicians.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The pay range is $23.94 - $44.53. The position is subject to a Florida Level 2 background screening, and the employer is an equal opportunity employer.
