Outpatient Neurological Physical Therapist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Outpatient Neurological Physical Therapist in its Innovation Tower in Orlando, Florida. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with Wednesday off. The position offers up to $10,000 in sign-on bonus for eligible applicants and up to $3,000 relocation bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and re-evaluate patients using recommended techniques and standards, determine the physical therapy diagnosis and establish a plan of care, recommending referrals when needed.
• Design and implement the treatment plan using practice standards, modalities, insurance guidelines and patient needs.
• Assess patients' ability to perform functional mobility safely and evaluate muscles, nerves, joints and skin.
• Adjust working hours to help other centers and programs when approved by the manager or director.
• Supervise physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, and support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain productivity standards and monitor patient progress, modifying the treatment plan as needed.
• Build referral relationships with physicians and participate in community outreach and education.

Required profile

• Entry-level competency in physical therapy practice, theory, principles and applications; a doctorate in physical therapy is preferred.
• Experience treating neurological patients.
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English.
• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist - Temporary (PT-TEMP).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of physical therapy practice standards and evidence-based practices.
