Radiology Technologist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift Radiology Technologist in Tavares, Florida. The role covers performing radiographic imaging procedures, moving and positioning patients and equipment, and providing direct patient care within the technologist's scope of practice. A two-year employment commitment is required.

Key responsibilities

• Moves, positions and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely
• Provides direct patient care, monitors patient condition, transports patients and uses proper infection control
• Follows radiation safety principles (time, distance, shielding) to keep exposure ALARA
• Performs radiographic imaging with correct patient and exam information, ensuring high-quality images
• Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• 1+ year of experience, preferably in radiology or as a new graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
• ARRT Registered Radiography (RT(R)) license and Certified Radiologic Technician (R.T.-CERT) certification
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• One year of post-certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
• Ability to maintain all required registries and licenses for diagnostic imaging

Required skills

• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging, including surgery and trauma
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operation, including x-ray equipment
• Able to use all radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
• Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, and data entry and retrieval
• Ability to analyze data, techniques and quality control
• Patient care skills for infants, children, adolescents, adults and older adults
