About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist Level II to deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety and optimal workflow. This position operates under the direction of radiologists and contributes to research and education initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental radiology procedures.
- Perform and supervise diagnostic imaging studies, ensuring compliance with radiologist orders.
- Assist in the education and training of new physicians and technologists.
- Collaborate with radiologists and PhDs to develop new imaging protocols and techniques.
- Participate in research projects and help design research protocols.
- Act as a team leader, overseeing day‑to‑day operations in the absence of the chief technologist.
- Monitor daily charging of radiologic procedures and supplies for accuracy.
- Demonstrate equipment during site visits and provide in‑service training.
- Verify patient identification, obtain consents, and ensure appropriate exam orders.
- Perform complex imaging tasks while adhering to radiation safety standards.
Required profile
- Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
- Ability to supervise operations and act as a point of contact for staff.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with physicians, researchers, and patients.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and compliance procedures.
- Commitment to high‑quality imaging standards and continuous improvement.
