Radiation Oncology Research Associate Professor

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an established investigator at the associate or professor level to lead a high‑impact research program in radiation oncology. The role combines independent research, graduate‑level teaching, and laboratory oversight within a collaborative academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct innovative scientific investigations in radiation biology, molecular biology, and translational research.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across the university and external institutions.
• Publish high‑impact papers and aggressively pursue extramural funding.
• Teach the radiobiology course for clinical and physics trainees.
• Supervise, mentor, and manage junior faculty, post‑doctoral fellows, and graduate students.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations, equipment, and departmental research space policies.
• Participate in departmental meetings, retreats, and culture initiatives.

Required profile

• Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. with proven success in genetics, radiation biology, or molecular biology.
• Expertise in fundamental radiation biology and a broad array of scientific techniques.
• Demonstrated experience running a funded laboratory and supervising junior researchers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to mentorship, collaborative research, and grant development.
