RADAR Integration and Test Engineer

About the role

Leidos Defense Systems Integration and Test Team is seeking a RADAR Integration and Test Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama. The team implements solutions for complex defense problems, including kinetic and directed energy platforms and radar and other surveillance and sensor technologies, working with customers and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with the customer and contractors to execute program requirements.
• Execute test plans for development, qualification and acceptance phases of hardware projects.
• Create, modify and use Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) test platforms.
• Complete requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
• Analyze test data with data log parsers, Wireshark and software debug tools.
• Brief internal and external parties on test results and data.
• Debug software and/or hardware with various tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an MS with 2+ years.
• Knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
• Experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
• Direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software or system integration, troubleshooting and testing.
• Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville.
• US citizenship and active secret clearance.
• Willingness to work outside in all weather and lift up to 50 pounds; minimal travel for test events (about 4 weeks per year).

Required skills

• Preferred: at least 2 years of test planning and execution experience.
• Preferred: experience with RADAR or RF systems.
• Preferred: electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator, antenna analyzer, power meter.
• Preferred: Python, C, C++, C#, Xilinx or Altera firmware, Linux, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Wireshark.
• Preferred: preparing and presenting briefings and demonstrations, and running demonstration tests and government test ranges.

Pay range: $87,100 - $157,450.
