Radar Engineer

About the role

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking Radar Engineers to join a team creating solutions for complex sensor and radar problems. The posting covers several opportunities spanning different levels of experience, with compensation matched to each candidate's experience. The role is based in the Huntsville – North Alabama area.

Key responsibilities

• Support advanced technology radar programs, including development of radar signal processors, radar tracking algorithms and advanced sensors in electronic warfare environments
• Simulate radar systems and field-test RF sensors and systems, as well as deploy advanced sensor systems
• Work with colleagues to improve existing algorithms in terms of performance and processing latency
• Investigate newer algorithms from the literature to see if they can improve radar programs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited school; a Master's with less than 2 years of relevant experience is also considered
• 2 to 4 years of prior relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with a strong demonstration of the listed skills
• Experience in radar algorithm development and/or radar analysis
• Experience leading a team of engineers on radar algorithm problems, peer reviewing internal or industry algorithms, and overseeing tasking
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the Huntsville area
• US citizen holding and maintaining a Final Secret Clearance

The pay range for this job level is $69,550 to $125,725, depending on experience and other factors.
