Quality Inspection Manager – Abilene

About the role

The Quality Inspection Manager leads the inspection function across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring that inspection activities are aligned with production schedules and quality standards. This hands‑on leader balances rigorous quality control with efficient throughput, partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and staff the Quality Inspection team across locations, managing headcount, shift coverage, and cross‑training.
• Plan inspection resources to meet daily, weekly, and forecasted production requirements.
• Prioritize inspection work based on production flow, bottlenecks, and critical build schedules.
• Monitor performance metrics such as throughput, backlog, first‑pass yield, rework, and defect trends.
• Execute in‑process and final inspections, including tank inspection checklists and incoming material reviews.
• Identify and escalate quality risks that could affect output, delivery, or customer satisfaction.
• Develop standardized inspection procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective‑preventive actions (CAPA) for inspection failures.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance inspection efficiency and defect prevention.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, UL, ASME, and other regulatory requirements and support internal/external audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading inspection or quality teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling and capacity planning.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO, UL, and ASME standards.
• Experience with CAPA processes and root‑cause analysis.
• Proficiency in developing inspection procedures and work instructions.
• Familiarity with manufacturing inspection equipment and documentation.
