Quality Control Inspector

About the role

The Quality Control Inspector performs hands‑on dimensional inspections of incoming, in‑process, first‑piece and final parts to ensure they meet drawings, customer specifications and internal quality standards. The role documents inspection results, initiates non‑conformance reports and carries out required engraving or stamping before product release.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in‑process, first‑piece and final inspections using current drawings, work orders and approved methods.
• Measure parts with manual tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges and indicators.
• Record inspection data accurately in ProShop or other approved systems and maintain traceable documentation.
• Identify non‑conforming product, initiate NCRs in ProShop with clear descriptions and supporting evidence, and tag/segregate affected items.
• Support containment, re‑inspection of reworked parts and provide evidence for disposition.
• Perform engraving, stamping or part marking as required, verifying content, location and legibility.
• Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated, protected and reported if damaged.
• Communicate inspection issues or unclear requirements promptly to the Quality Manager.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, ballooned drawings and work orders.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Experience with manual dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Capability to follow internal quality procedures and safety guidelines.
