Quality Assurance Inspector II

About the role

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector II to support multiple production lines. The role focuses on performing in‑process inspections, audits, and providing coaching to ensure compliance with customer and internal quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute in‑process quality inspections of sub‑assemblies, components, and final assemblies using precision measurement tools.
• Conduct regular audits of tooling calibration, shelf‑life control, operator training, and work‑instruction compliance.
• Report quality escapes, support root‑cause investigations, and drive corrective actions.
• Perform sample inspections of received inventory with multimeters, oscilloscopes, micrometers, and hardness testers.
• Assist with design of experiments (DOE), statistical process controls (SPC), and gauge R&R studies.
• Support incoming logistics inspections and oversee acceptance criteria for repairs.
• Manage product containment activities, including quarantine and non‑conformance screening.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive work environment and share safety and quality best practices.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• Ability to train new hires on inspection procedures and provide constructive feedback.
• Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive team atmosphere.

Required skills

• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, micrometers, and hardness testers.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE).
• Knowledge of gauge repeatability & reproducibility (R&R) methods.
• Ability to perform calibration checks and audit documentation.
