About the role

The Ted and Donna Lyon Center for Gamebird Research at East Texas A&M University seeks a motivated Quail Research Laboratory Manager to lead daily operations of the Reyna Laboratory for Upland Gamebirds. This position supports cutting‑edge research aimed at sustainable gamebird populations and the training of future professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day laboratory activities, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce university safety and compliance standards.
• Manage laboratory inventory, equipment maintenance, and procurement of supplies.
• Supervise lab staff and coordinate training for students and researchers.
• Assist with budgeting, record‑keeping, and reporting related to lab operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a research laboratory or similar scientific facility.
• Knowledge of biosafety, regulatory compliance, and best laboratory practices.
• Strong organizational and supervisory abilities.
• Relevant academic background (e.g., biology, agriculture, environmental science).
