PV Solar Technician

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a PV Solar Technician to support operations at its Union Solar Farm in Ohio. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting photovoltaic systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PV modules, inverters, and battery storage equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues while adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Conduct site inspections, safety analyses, and participate in safety training and emergency drills.
• Manage inventory control, documentation, and warranty tracking for replacement parts.
• Operate and maintain electrical equipment up to 345 kV, including lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Communicate with the operations centre and cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
• Assist with new installations, commissioning, and project‑based site work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or related electrical environments.
• Hands‑on problem‑solver comfortable working in fast‑paced outdoor settings.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or journeyman certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
• Willingness to travel, work night shifts or extended hours, and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical theory, power electronics, substation equipment, and control systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and electrical test equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, one‑line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience performing lock‑out/tag‑out procedures on high‑voltage equipment.

What we offer

• Base pay $28–$38 per hour, plus on‑call pay.
• 5 % annual performance bonus and 5 % availability bonus.
