Purchasing & Receiving Manager

About the role

The Purchasing & Receiving Manager will lead all purchasing, receiving and storeroom activities for the new Fairmont New Orleans hotel. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Support, this role ensures efficient procurement, inventory control and cost‑effective sourcing to support hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all purchasing management operations for the hotel.
• Maintain systems of accounts and controls for finance reporting and month‑end statements.
• Implement inventory controls, purchasing plans and conduct monthly/quarterly inventories.
• Prepare and analyze proposals, select suppliers, negotiate costs and secure price quotations.
• Review vendor history, market conditions and suggest substitute items when beneficial.
• Collaborate weekly with chefs to determine food and beverage needs.
• Balance inventories with Accounts Payable and close month‑end inventories with Finance.
• Develop, implement and revise daily, monthly and annual reports including revenue, profit and loss.
• Establish control systems for portion control and beverage supplies to minimize waste.
