About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Purchasing Manager III to lead procurement activities for its Benicia, CA operations. The role focuses on delivering cost‑effective purchasing solutions while supporting the company’s semiconductor and display manufacturing business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that balance cost, quality, and service standards.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor vendor performance, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for business operations.
• Analyze market trends and supply‑chain risks to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and logistics teams to forecast purchasing needs and align activities with business objectives.
• Maintain inventory levels and purchasing schedules to optimize product availability and minimize excess stock.
• Track procurement metrics, prepare reports, and present performance results to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply‑chain experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, purchasing software, and Microsoft Office applications.
