Materials Planner II

About the role

Materials Planner II at Applied Materials is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of materials to manufacturing and engineering operations. The role focuses on production control, inventory management, and maintaining MRP integrity within a high‑tech semiconductor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Oracle work order release schedule to provide on‑time material to manufacturing and perform rescheduling of discrete jobs as needed.
• Conduct pre‑shortage analysis, work order variance analysis, and review MRP execution to reconcile supply and demand.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure proper disposition, including status reporting.
• Participate in floor audits, resolve WIP issues, and attend production meetings to communicate material shortage commitments.
• Analyze usage data, forecast spare parts, and manage inventory levels, including obsolete inventory and expediting duties.

Required profile

• Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in materials planning and broadens capabilities across production control.
• Understands key business drivers and applies this understanding to achieve planning objectives.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members and solves straightforward problems using technical judgment.
